Highway Patrolman Injured In Crash On I-880
The CHP vehicle was stopped when it was hit.
HAYWARD, CA — A California Highway Patrol vehicle assisting with construction on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward early this morning was struck by another vehicle, according to the CHP.
The collision was reported at 3:25 a.m. on the freeway at Industrial Parkway. The officer sitting in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, CHP officials said.
CHP officials didn't have any information on the motorist or vehicle that struck the patrol unit as of 6:30 a.m. today.
