James Logan High School Threat: School Safely Evacuated

All students have been safely escorted out of the school.

UNION CITY, CA — James Logan High School in Union City was dismissed early on Friday because of a threat scrawled on a bathroom wall. There were no injuries.

Union City Police were on hand to assist in the orderly evacuation of the school. Officers were armed with rifles as a precaution, in case a shooter was in place.

The school resource officer is checking surveillance video in an effort to identify the person responsible for the threat.

The school sent a tweet, which read, "As a precaution, JLHS went to a 'shelter in place' lock-down after a student reported graffiti in a restroom about school safety. Classes will be dismissed early, again as a precaution. We notified parents via phone."
