Union City was known throughout the nation by hundreds of wholesale florists who looked to Kitayama Brothers for the finest carnations grown. Greenleaf Wholesale Florists, Inc., the sales division of Kitayama Bros. Nursery did business on a national scale. Each day they shipped carnations by air to almost every state in the Union.
Their many greenhouses were among the finest in the world-steamheated in the winter months, and air conditioned in the summer.
They were proud to have been a part of this growing Union City where they live.
