Man Found Shot to Death on Union City Sidewalk
Police followed a trail of blood back to the spot where they believe the murder happened.

A man was fatally shot just before midnight on Tuesday in Union City, police said.
Officers who responded to reports of a shooting found a 43-year-old man lying on the sidewalk on Alvarado Niles Road near Osprey Drive at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Officers who investigated the shooting followed a blood trail to Skylark Drive near Grackle Court, which they think is the location where the shooting occurred, according to police.
The shooting victim’s identity is being withheld pending confirmation by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau and the notification of his next-of-kin, police said.
