Man Suffering From Dementia Missing from Hayward Since Saturday Morning

An 82-year-old man suffering from dementia has been missing out of Hayward since Saturday morning, police said today. Claude Beams was last seen at Fairfield Inn and Suites at 25921 Industrial Blvd. north of state Highway 92 around 7:45 a.m. Saturday, police said.

He may have left the hotel in a white 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck with a white camper shell and California license plate 7Y67701, according to police. Beams is described as a black man standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and roughly 180 pounds, police said.

There have been past instances in which Beams became disoriented and lost, according to police. Anyone with information that can assist police in locating Beams is asked to call 911 or Hayward police at (510) 293-7000.
