Man Wounded In Union City Park Shooting

The victim said he was confronted by three to four males, ages 16 to 20, police said.

UNION CITY, CA – A shooting Tuesday afternoon at Dry Creek Park in Union City sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.

The victim, a man in his 20s, told officers he was at the park at about 3 p.m. when he got into a confrontation with three to four males, described as Hispanic and from 16 to 20 years old, according to the Union City Police Department.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, and the weapon was not recovered, the agency said, adding that an investigation into the incident is underway.

The injury to the man's left leg is not considered life-threatening, police said.
