Need a Lift, Union City? Tri-City Taxi Voucher Program Can Help
The program for seniors and people with disabilities who need transportation for health care services, shopping, and other daily activities.

UNION CITY, CA — There's a program that helps seniors and people with disabilities with their daily activities.
The Tri-City Taxi Voucher Program provides subsidized taxi rides within the local area. Enrolled participants can purchase taxi vouchers at a cost of $4 per voucher. Each voucher subsidizes up to $16 of taxi meter fare. Riders are responsible for paying any taxi meter fare above the $16 voucher subsidy.
Who is eligible to participate? Fremont, Newark, or Union City residents who are either:

- 80 years of age or older, or
- Unable to use public transit (AC Transit buses and BART) because of a disability
You must fill out a voucher application:
- Fremont
- Newark
- Union City (use the Fremont form)
New enrollees will receive four free taxi vouchers with their rider packet. Taxis are not wheelchair-accessible; individuals using wheelchairs can be accommodated if they are able to safely transfer from their wheelchair to the taxi.
