Neighborhood food and toy drive starts

Hello Union City neighbors!

For the past couple of years, the Tamarack Knolls Neighborhood Watch has organized a food drive. Last year, our neighborhood (just off Tamarack and Mission Boulevard in Union City, between the cemetery and the Masonic Home) collected several dozen bags and boxes -- we filled up a whole car with donations, in fact!

This year, we are collecting both canned/boxed foods and new toys. Collection bins will be placed at the corner of Tamarack and Palmetto at the top of the hill, and in Basswood Court at the bottom of the hill.

We invite you to take a walk or a drive around the neighborhood and check out everyone’s fabulous lights, and then drop off a donation in the bins you’ll find at the top of Tamarack and in Basswood Court. This is an easy way to share the spirit of Christmas with your neighbors!

Donations will go to Centro de Servicios, on H Street in Union City’s Decoto district. The food and toy drive will continue until Dec. 22.
