New Physician Leaders at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro & Fremont

Dr. Kapil Dhingra and Dr. Eric Cain Named Physicians-in-Chief

Kapil Dhingra, MD, an emergency physician, and Eric Cain, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, have been named the new physicians-in-chief of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers in San Leandro and Fremont, respectively. These physician leaders will help guide the medical operations of the hospital and outpatient clinics as well as oversee physicians and medical staff.

Dr. Dhingra replaces Dr. Robert Greenberg, who served as physician-in-chief of the San Leandro Medical Center for six years. Dr. Cain replaces Dr. Suhani Mody, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Both physicians will work closely with Michelle Gaskill-Hames, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente in southern Alameda County.

"I look forward to leading our incredible teams of physicians and staff who are dedicated to the health of our members and the communities we serve," said Dr. Dhingra. "Our commitment to southern Alameda County has never been stronger and we will continue to bring care beyond the walls of the medical center and into the communities we serve."
