Officials ID Woman, 32, Who Died After Being Hit by Car in Hayward

The crash happened on September 23.

A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Hayward on Tuesday evening and died on Wednesday was identified by Alameda County coroner’s officials today as 32-year-old Christina Hernandez of Hayward.

Police said Hernandez was hit by a car while she was crossing Harder Road at Franklin Avenue just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Hernandez was rushed to the Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley but died at about 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. The driver who struck Hernandez is a 34-year-old Hayward woman who remained at the collision scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation but police said they don’t believe that either woman was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
