Ohlone College Student Arrest: Stolen Gun, Police Say

There was an active felony warrant for the student before the discovery of the gun, according to police.

FREMONT, CA —A 24-year-old student at Ohlone College in Fremont has been arrested for suspicion of receiving stolen property for allegedly possessing a stolen gun, police said.

At 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday Ohlone College staff members found a gun that was listed as stolen, Fremont police said.

Ohlone College police called Fremont police for assistance in detaining an associated student on campus and an active felony warrant came up when dispatch checked the student's name, according to police.

Officers then took the student into custody, police said.

The student is being held on the felony warrant and for one count of receiving stolen property, according to police.

Authorities are still investigating the gun's history, police said.
