Panhandler Arrested For Assault In Union City
Police say the victim had turned down the man's request for money.
UNION CITY, CA — A Union City man as arrested for throwing a sharp rock at a victim, hitting him in the neck, according to Union City Police. It happened after the suspect asked the victim for money but was turned down.
The assault was reported on Saturday, Jan. 13 in the 1700 block of Decoto Road.
Officers located the suspect nearby. The victim positively identified the man. Police arrested 22-year-old Sebastian Melgoza for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and drunk in public.
