Pedestrian in Union City Struck by Car This Morning Dies

The man's identity has yet to be determined by the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Union City this morning has died of his injuries, according to police. The fatal collision was reported just after 5 a.m. today in the 32000 block of Alvarado-Niles Road near Almaden Boulevard, according to police.

The victim, a male adult, was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, according to Lt. Doug Calcano. The involved driver and others at the scene are cooperating with investigators. The pedestrian does not appear to have been in the crosswalk at the time of the collision, Calcano said.
