Police ID Union City Shooting Suspect

The man has been booked into Santa Rita Jail.

UNION CITY, CA — Union City Police have identified the man arrested Tuesday following a shooting. Joseph Davis, 41, of Union City was booked into Santa Rita Jail on multiple charges including suspicion of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and suspicion of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The shooting happened in the area 12th and G streets shortly after 11 a.m. Responding officers found one man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover. His name has not been released.

Officers learned that the suspect was believed to still be in the area. He was detained a short time later. Officers also seized a gun and ammunition.
