Suspected Auto Thief Caught In Tri-City
Officers temporarily closed two streets in Union City as they searched for a suspected auto thief this morning.

UNION CITY, CA -- Officers temporarily closed two streets in Union City as they searched for a suspected auto thief this morning, but the suspect has been apprehended and the roadways are now open, police said.
Around 11:16 a.m., officers stopped a suspected stolen vehicle on I Street between 11th and 12th streets, and the driver fled on foot, according to police.
The suspect hid in the back yard of a home on 11th Street, police said. As officers searched for him, they closed 11th and 12 streets.

The officers tracked down the man and arrested him, police said.
