Teen With Loaded Gun Arrested At Union City Park

A community member called police about teens smoking pot in the park.

UNION CITY, CA — A teen was arrested at Kennedy Park in Union City for having a loaded, semiautomatic handgun. He was taken to Juvenile Hall.

Police credit a member of the community for following the adage, "If you see something, say something." Police received a call that three teens were smoking marijuana at the park and provided descriptions of the teens.

An investigating officer found the teens, and discovered the gun.

Police concluded a social media posting about the situation with, "A great example of teamwork and a big thank you to the community member who helped us get a gun off the street."
