Tri-City Road Closures this weekend

The 61st Annual Newark Days will be held this weekend, kicking off with dollar carnival rides on Thursday, a Star Wars movie on Friday and capping off with a whirlwind of activities on Saturday and Sunday.

The parade will take place this Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Newark & Cedar Boulevards. It kicks off at 9:45 a.m. The theme this year is Voyage to the Stars. Expect marching bands, Snoopy and friends from Great America, and much more!

You may sit along the sidewalk area but not in the center median.

Immediately before the parade is the Mile Run.

Road Closures:

From 6:00 a.m. to the end of the parade:
• Newark Blvd. northbound from Central Ave. to Thornton Ave.
• Civic Terrace Ave. (both directions) from St. Edwards St. to Newark Blvd.
• Civic Terrace Ave. (both directions) from Newark Blvd.to the Library parking lot.

From 7:00 a.m. to the end of the parade:
• Newark Blvd. northbound to Cedar Blvd.
• Mayhews Landing Rd (both directions) from Fair Ave. to Newark Blvd.
• Cedar Blvd. southbound from Newark Blvd. to McDonald Ave.
• Cedar Blvd. northbound from Edgewater Dr. to Newark Blvd.
Southbound traffic along Newark Blvd. will stay open to Thornton Ave. No traffic will be allowed onto Newark Blvd. along the parade route.
