UNION CITY, CA — Ruqayyah "Cookie" Hassan has dreams - she wants to work in the field of cosmetology. But before she can attain her goals she must overcome a hurdle that most 16-year-old teens don't face - cancer. Cookie has Hodgkin's Lymphoma
The James Logan High School student lives with her mom, Shareena, who is a single mom.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to pay for "chemotherapy sessions and for other aspects of Cookie's life which will be affected by this cruel disease."
