Two Armed Robbery Reports and More from the Union City Police Log

The following is a collection of reports prepared by the Union City Police Department. The document contains only items of note. Dated Jan. 5, the log contains incidents that occurred from Dec. 29 to Jan. 3. Reports have been lightly edited for Patch style.

Drug Arrest
On Sunday (05/19/13) at 11:03 p.m., Officers Bizieff and Turbyfill were dispatched to Lucky’s at Union Landing, to investigate a vehicle that was parked on the sidewalk. The officers located a vehicle parked on the sidewalk, with a male seated in the driver’s seat. The male reclined his seat back and continued to smoke methamphetamine from a pipe as officers contacted him. The very “loaded” male was placed under arrest at the scene. Additional methamphetamine was located during a search of the arrestee. 

Drunk Driving and Public Intoxication Arrests
On Sunday (05/19/13) at 11:45 p.m., passing motorists reported a vehicle stuck on the center median of Union City Boulevard. Arriving officers contacted two intoxicated males at the scene. Both males denied being the driver of the motor vehicle. An independent witness identified the driver at the scene. Both males went to jail, one for driving while under the influence, and one for public intoxication. 

Residential Burglary
On Tuesday (05/21/13), Officer Alberto documented a residential burglary on Lowry Court. The incident occurred on 05/21/13, between 9:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. The suspects entered the residence through a downstairs sliding glass door and targeted jewelry and electronics. 

Armed Robbery Report
On Tuesday (05/21/13) at 10:15 p.m., Officers investigated an armed robbery that occurred in the playground of 34888 11th Street. A group of friends were in the area when a suspect approached them. The suspect produced a silver revolver and demanded the victim’s cell phones and backpacks. The suspect was described as a black male, between 15 and 19 years old. 

Armed Robbery Report
On Wednesday (05/22/13), a victim reported being robbed at gun point in the area of Kennedy Park. The victim said the incident occurred on 05/21/13. The description of the suspect appears consistent with the prior armed robbery from 11th Street. Anyone with information about these incidents should contact the Investigations Unit.
