Two Women Busted In Reportedly Stolen Car In Nearby Milpitas

The driver hit the patrol car in attempt to flee, police said.

MILPITAS, CA - Two Salinas women were arrested Monday in Milpitas after an officer spotted them inside a stolen vehicle. Johnisha Marie Gleason, 23, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest, and Ashantea Druanlia Brooks, 26, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to the Milpitas Police Department.

On Monday at 9:44 p.m. a Milpitas police officer was patrolling the parking lot of Mi Rancherita at 51 South Park Victoria Drive when the officer located a silver Isuzu Rodeo that had been reported stolen out of Salinas. There were three women in the vehicle. Police said the driver, identified as Gleason, struck the patrol vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene.

Gleason and Brooks were then taken into custody without further incident, according to police. Officers also located property in the vehicle and are attempting to locate the owners to determine if it was stolen, police said.
