Owned by Antonne Santos, the U-Auto Stop Service Station was built in 1927 and sold gasoline for three companies, Shell Oil Company, General and Richfield. In 1928, it became the first station in Washingon Township to sell only Shell gasoline. The original station was demolished in 1961 and a new one was built at the same location, but closed in 1978 after 50 years of operation.
