Union City Man Arrested For Threatening to Blow Up Bank

The suspect was found with a Molotov cocktail, according to police.

UNION CITY, CA - A man was arrested in Union City last week for allegedly threatening to blow up a bank.

Anthony La, 42, of Union City, was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and possession of combustible material for arson.

On March 8 at 11:10 a.m. officers responded to the Fremont Bank on Alvardo Boulevard on a report of criminal threats being made. A bank employee reported a suspect smelling of gasoline threatened to "blow up" the bank, police said.
