Union City Man Shot Son During Argument
Wilfredo Ditico has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to officials at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

A 68-year-old Union City man was arrested Wednesday after police said he shot his son in the leg during an argument. Wilfredo Ditico has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to Alameda County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Teresa Drenick.
Police responded just after 5 p.m. to a call of a shooting and possible armed suspect in the 31000 block of Santa Ana Way in Union City. Cmdr. Gloria Lopez-Vaughan said responding officers found the 40-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to the hospital, treated and has since been released.
Lopez-Vaughan said the victim made his way to a neighbor’s house to call police after the shooting. Police located Ditico at the scene and took him into custody without incident.
