Union City Police Lieutenant Graduates From FBI Academy

Like all academy participants, UCPD Lt. Doug Calcagno was nominated for the prestigious training.

UNION CITY, CA — Union City Police Lt. Doug Calcagno graduated from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia last month, UCPD announced.

The 10-week program provides coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, fitness training and forensic science. Its purpose is to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.

Calcagno's class included 223 men and women from 48 states, 18 international countries, five military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations. Those who attend the FBI National Academy are nominated by their agency heads because of demonstrated leadership qualities.

The FBI National Academy has educated 50,000 law enforcement members since it began in 1935.
