Union City Police Seeking Suspects in Connection with Fatal Shooting

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in Union City Sunday night. At approximately 9:15 p.m., police received a call reporting that a shooting had occurred near 13th and I streets, police said.

Several officers and medical personnel responded to the area and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police. First responders attempted life saving measures, but the man died as a result of his injuries at the scene, police said.

The victim had been outside a home with a group of people when two suspects approached the group on foot and began firing multiple rounds toward the group, according to police. The gunfire struck the victim and the suspects fled on foot to a vehicle, police said. The vehicle then fled out of the area at a high rate of speed, police said. Police did not have a description of the vehicle or the suspects. Police are working to confirm the identity of the victim.
