Union City Police Seeking Witnesses, Video of Home Invasion Robbery

Anyone who may have seen these individuals or who may have come in contact with them are being asked to call investigators at 510-675-5247.

On 10-14-14, around 1:47 PM, Union City Police Officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Horner Street for a just occurred home invasion robbery.

The victim, an elderly female was home alone when the incident occurred. The victim advised that someone had rung her doorbell and then walked away from the residence and got into a silver 4 door sedan. The person who rang the doorbell was described as a black female who was 5’4” tall and heavy set. The female was described as having her hair up in a bun and she was wearing black leggings.

Approximately 2-3 minutes after the bell was rang, the front door of the residence was forced open by two black male suspects. The first suspect was described as a black male, 5’09” tall weighing around 240 pounds and wearing all dark clothing. The second male was described as taller than the first male, skinny, and was wearing an orange construction vest.

The female victim was forced onto the floor and various articles of property were stolen from the residence. The victim received minor injuries and was treated on scene. The suspects fled the residence and the area in the silver sedan. During follow up investigation, it appears that similar suspects were seen in the area of Granger Avenue and Smith Street approximately a 1⁄2 mile away approximately 15 minutes before this incident.

Union City Police investigators are requesting the assistance of persons who may have been in the area during this time or who may reside or work in the area. Please review any surveillance footage you may have from the area during the time frames of 1-2 P.M. Investigators believe that the suspects may have been posing as utility workers (orange construction vest) while casing the area around Granger Avenue and onto Horner Street.
