Union City Police Write Dozens Of Tickets
The traffic division is cracking down on pedestrian safety. See how many tickets were for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
UNION CITY, CA — The Union City Police Department is focused on pedestrian safety this month. On Friday, the Traffic Unit conducted direct enforcement. The officers wrote 26 tickets for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk and one ticket for cell phone violation.
Here is a rundown of their efforts:
- Over 30 vehicle stops.
- 27 citations issued.
- 1 vehicle towed.
- 2 arrests for unlicensed drivers.
- 1 arrest for suspended license.
UCPD thanked the California Office of Traffic Safety for its support which made this operation possible.
