Union City Woman Killed In Hit-and-Run In Fremont
Cops are hunting for motorist who was driving a gray or silver SUV or van. Vehicle likely has front-end and passenger-side damage.

FREMONT, CA --The Alameda County coroner's bureau has identified a 65-year-old Union City woman who died in a hit-and-run collision Tuesday night in Fremont as Amna Khatoon.
The collision was reported at 9:28 p.m. on Walnut Avenue near the BART station and just east of Civic Center Drive, according to police.
Officers found Khatoon lying in the eastbound lanes of Walnut Avenue and had her taken to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

A silver or gray SUV or van traveling east on Walnut Avenue struck Khatoon and drove away in the same direction.
Police said the SUV or van may have major damage to the front-end and passenger side of the vehicle.

Several witnesses gave officers information about the collision.
Police are asking anyone else with information about the case to call the Police Department's traffic unit at (510) 790-6760 or to email traffic investigator K. Snow at ksnow@fremont.gov. People can also submit a tip anonymously by texting "Tip FremontPD" followed by a message to 888777.
