UPDATE On Fremont House Fire On Hughes Place

Rescued resident reportedly weighed 600 pounds; blankets, tarps employed to get him safely out of the house.

FREMONT, CA - One person is being treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a home in Fremont this morning, fire officials said. The blaze was reported at 6:09 a.m. in the 5500 block of Hughes Place.

Crews rescued the person from the home and extinguished the fire as of shortly before 6:55 a.m., fire officials said on Twitter.

KRON4 reported that the resident weighed 600 pounds, and rescuers used blankets and tarps to remove him during the blaze.
