The Alameda County Water District gets 40 percent of its annual water supply through the State Water Project.

FREMONT, CA — The Alameda County Water District Board of Directors voted Thursday night to support the California WaterFix project. Backers say it will improve the reliability of the State Water Project and protect one of the District’s key water supplies.

The District relies on the State Water Project for 40 percent of its annual water supply.

"The Board’s vote tonight demonstrates our commitment to ensuring a reliable and resilient water supply for our customers,” said John Weed, Board President. “Based on the information we’ve received to date, we believe the WaterFix project is an effective way to meet the District’s long-term water supply reliability goals.”
