Woman 'Covered In Blood' In Union City Attack

Police say the stabbing victim was lying in her own carport covered in blood from the "violent attack."

UNION CITY, CA — A Union City woman in her 50s is hospitalized in critical condition because of stab wounds, according to Union City Police. A man in his 20s who is described as her assailant was taken to the hospital with cuts on his hands. The attack happened in the area of the 2200 block of Partridge Way.

Police say they received a call about the crime they describe as a " violent attack" just after 8:30 Monday morning, reporting, "our dispatch center received a 911 call stating there was an adult women in her 50’s lying on the ground and covered in blood." The woman was found lying in her carport.

Police say the motive for the attack is unknown.

The suspect's identity will be released to residents "once he has been booked into jail."
