• Coast Guard to fully restore six stations, cites recruiting success (workboat.com) — Coast Guard Station Vallejo is slated to return to full staffing and operations in 2027, boosting local capacity for search and rescue, maritime security, and law enforcement on nearby waters. The move depends on final 2027 funding from Congress but reflects what officials describe as record recruiting that's allowing several previously downsized stations, including Vallejo and Rio Vista, to be restored.
• Registered nurses across California to recover millions in stolen wages (mercurynews.com) — Kaiser nurses across California have won an arbitration decision forcing the company to repay tens of millions in wages they say were lost after a 2021 payroll change, a fight that included recent pickets at Kaiser Vallejo. Local nurses describe strong community support in Solano County, while Kaiser insists its pay is already above market and says it will honor the arbitrator's ruling despite disputing the union's claims.
