Arrest Made In 4-Year-Old Lincoln Boulevard Hit & Run

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities Wednesday announced the arrest of a 27- year-old woman in the hit-and-run death of a man who was struck by a vehicle while jogging in the Playa Vista area of Los Angeles about four years ago.

Brittnee Crawford was arrested Jan. 16, booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and released from custody two days later after posting $80,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's inmate records.

Investigators had been trying to track her down since she was identified through DNA evidence left in the vehicle, which Crawford allegedly abandoned after it struck a pole.

The victim, 62-year-old Paul Grover, was struck about 4:15 a.m. Jan. 9, 2014, at Lincoln Boulevard and Bluff Trail Road, and died the following day at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"We don't give up on these things; we keep going," Capt. Robert Long of the Los Angeles Police Department's Major Crimes Division told reporters at an afternoon news conference at the collision scene near the roadway that enters Loyola Marymount University.

He said the crash was probably alcohol-related and reminded drivers there is no reason to get behind the wheel while under the influence when there are ride-sharing services, taxis and other options available. For those who don't heed his advice, he had a warning.

"We are going to come after you and you will be held accountable for the actions that you take," Long said.

Crawford's boyfriend was also arrested for allegedly lying to investigators about the woman's whereabouts.
