Learn how to make your own Books. Learn the basics for scrapbooks, journals and keepsakes to give as gifts or to preserve your own memories.

Beginning Bookbinding

Spend five Tuesday evenings learning book binding basics. Beginning with a selection of folded single sheet and accordion books, students learn to sew several pamphlet variations. We continue to construct more complicated books with paper-wrapped boards and a variety of sewn bindings. Students will make 12 to 15 books during the five session course.

$250 plus $35 Materials fee, payable to the instructor.

Instructor, Danita Rafalovich, brings a new perspective to book binding through her extensive work designing and constructing quilts. This class will provide members with a foundation on traditional binding and the opportunity to explore many variations on book structures.

Classes take place at BookArtsLA at 11720 Washington Place (at McLaughlin), 90066.
