Windward Ideas Worth Spreading

Windward Ideas Worth Spreading 2011,  Featuring TED Talks is a mini-conference on campus on May 31 featuring talks by Windward faculty, videos chosen by Windward students, and (tentatively) skyped talks by TED speakers. This exciting program intends to expose Windward students to today's latest, most truly dynamic teaching and topics.

TED is a non-profit group that hosts conferences and posts short videos on its website featuring "ideas worth spreading" across disciplines. The mini-conference at Windward is the culmination of the TED period 8 class, led by faculty member Stephen Johnson, Windward alumnus and CEO of Accelerating Possibilities, Rafe Furst, and junior Alex Nichols '11.

Windward students are helping to curate and run the event.  We plan to film each speaker and archive the talks on our website (ala TED) for the future and for podcasts. Really proud of everyone involved in this!
