Join us for our 24th annual Día de los Muertos celebration and ritual. The free event will take place from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at SPARC’s historic headquarters at 685 Venice Blvd., and will feature traditional altars, art, performances, and special Oaxacan treats!

The evening will begin with a traditional invocation ritual at sunset, conducted in Nahuatl, Spanish, and English, honoring the rich cultural heritage of this sacred day.

The public is invited to contribute to the building of a community altar by bringing photos of the people you wish to honor. Photos may be taken home at the end of the event.

Come be part of this special day, where we gather as a community to celebrate life, memory, and tradition!

The program series leading up to Día de los Muertos:

  • October 10 – Talk/Workshop: The History and Traditions of Día de los Muertos
  • October 17 – Workshop I: Learn to make traditional and new decorations for Día de los Muertos
  • October 24 – Workshop II: Learn to make traditional and new decorations for Día de los Muertos

This year’s event is made possible with the support of the Office of Councilwoman Traci Park and Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture
