Venice, CA— On September 23, 2014, Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) founder Dr. Laurie Marker will bring a live cheetah to The G2 Gallery and sign her new book, A Future for Cheetahs. The fundraiser for CCF will be $25 for admission, or $10 for students.
Dr. Marker will give a talk followed by a Q&A, with wine and light appetizers included. Dr. Marker has worked with cheetahs for more than 40 years. The price of the book is $45 and proceeds from the evening will benefit her work with cheetahs.
In attendance will be a San Diego Zoo cheetah ambassador and Johari, a live cheetah – uncaged and safely harnessed. The cheetah will roam around the gallery accompanied by the handler and an Anatolian shepherd, Yeti. Visitors will be able to photograph the cheetah and witness the ambassador feeding the fastest land animal on earth.

“All of our cheetahs that make appearances are fantastic animals,” says San Diego Zoo Animal Training Supervisor Janet Rose-Hinostroza. “Everyone will certainly be able to hear Johari purring and see her up close and personal, which is a pretty awesome experience.”
Tickets to this special evening with Dr. Laurie Marker can be found here: https://cms.mybernard.com/CCF/G2.aspx or at the door the night of the event for $25, or $10 for students. All proceeds from admissions will go towards CCF’s ongoing efforts to protect cheetahs around the world. Whole Foods – Venice is catering the event.
