Join former New York Times reporter and college counselor Louise Tutelian as she shares how to actually write a compelling story for your college essay, sentence by sentence. Everyone tells students to “be revealing in your college essay.” But no one tells them how! In this hour-long workshop, seniors and juniors will learn how to hook a reader, create drama, add telling details and craft a memorable closing. Much more than an overview, this presentation provides specific examples of successful essays and why they work, how to choose a prompt and which topics to avoid. With handouts and tip sheet.
