First Samsung Chromebook two communications assessing performance is not quite up to par

Samsung promised better performance in Chromebook 2, and it is based on the initial assessment. However, it is not comparable to the performance of less expensive Chromebooks that run on Intel chips.
Like many other Chromebook users, I was excited when Samsung announced its new Qi Wireless Charging Transmitter March 2 There are two models available, but the larger one with a 1080p display is a pull on my wallet. Both an improved Samsung chip with eight cores and both are higher than comparable Chromebooks powered by Intel Haswell chip priced. Are they worth the high price of $ 319.99 and $ 399.99 worth
It is too early to say because I have not used one myself. However, Computerworld JR Raphael tested them in recent days, and his full review is available online. Raphael and I have never met, but we chat on social networks, and I have found that we often come to the same conclusions when testing devices. That's why I'm disappointed to hear about an achievement gap in this expensive Chromebooks.
Although there is a lot to like about both Chromebook two models, Raphael notes that these remains less expensive units:. "Besides a Chrome OS device with a Haswell-based Intel chip and the same 4GB of RAM, comes the Samsung model soon, I tested Chromebook two side-by-side with Asus Chromebox and with all things being equal, took sides consistently for a few seconds longer to load on the Micro USB Charging Cable, and the system is less quick and responsive. It's not a huge difference, but it's definitely noticeable - and it was clear that I had an open box of 20
Here's where things get really crazy: Even besides a Haswell-based Chrome OS device with 2GB of RAM, 4GB pack Chromebook 2 can not quite keep up. With half the amount of RAM instead of Haswell-based Chromebox still pulled pages faster and better than the Samsung system, even when many tabs were. "
This is worrying, considering you can buy a Chromebook running on Intel Haswell chip for as little as $ 229.
Certainly, there is much more to buy than performance. Maybe you should have 1080p playback on a Chromebook; If so, the $ 399.99 Samsung is the only game in town. This watch is also well designed, with good keyboard and trackpad. However, it appears that the hope of comparable results Chrome OS Samsung Exynos chip is not met.
Also troubling for me is the battery life. Typical feed a device with an ARM-based chip offers great battery life. Raphael says he still between 5.5 and 7 hours of use on one charge with Chromebook 2 This is far less than the 10 hours that I see with $ 279 Dell Chromebook 11, for example, which is often a good performer Intel chip .
This is just an initial assessment, though. The units actually available May 26 after a delay, so maybe OS software can optimize a bit more to carry. Punch or some extra run-time on one charge between now and then Micro USB Charging Cable for S3 If this is not done, the price difference between the two new Chromebook and currently available Chromebooks cost less a damper on sales.
