Lifeguard Finds Body on the Beach

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the discovery of a man’s body found tonight in Playa del Rey, authorities reported.

The unidentified body was found in a rocky area of the water along the shore in the 6100 block of Ballona Creek about 7:20 p.m., Deputy Jeff Gordon said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Gordon said.

The investigation was ongoing, Gordon said.
