Man Shot to Death in Mid City

A man believed to have been in his 30s was shot to death in the Mid City area of Los Angeles, police said today.

The shooting was reported in the 1800 block of South Longwood Avenue at 11:53 p.m. Monday, said Los Angeles Police Department Lt. J. Mastick.

The victim was found fatally wounded in the street, Mastick said. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and an on-site investigation was underway this morning, he said.
