LOS ANGELES, November 11, 2016 – Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA) Marina Service Unit and Troop 925 congratulates Taylor Anzai for earning the Girl Scouts of the USA Medal of Honor.
The Girl Scouts Medal of Honor, a national Lifesaving Award, was presented to Taylor Anzai for her heroic actions from Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles CEO Lise Luttgens at a ceremony at the organization’s headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles.
Taylor, 15, a Sophomore from Venice Senior High School, and her best friend, Ariana Baran, were eating dinner, lying on a bed, when Ariana began choking on a noodle. Taylor realizing that Ariana was not joking around and was in real trouble sprang into action. Taylor was able to get in position and give Ariana back blows until the noodle came flying out.
