Venice High School's Marks Named Western League Football MVP
Venice High's senior is also the City Section Division I Defensive Player of the Year.
The Los Angeles City Section football coaches have announced their All-City team and Venice High School's has been named defensive player of the year in Division I.
Narbonne's Troy Williams is the Most Valuable Player ,while co-offensive players of the year are De'Jon Coleman of Arleta and Kenny Potter of San Pedro. The offensive lineman of the year is Narbonne's Beau Luati, teammate Paulo Lepua is the defensive lineman of the year and Gauchos coach Manuel Douglas is Coach of the Year.
Joining Marks on the All-City first-team are Venice defensive lineman and defensive back , along with quarterback Jerry McConico of Crenshaw; running backs Isaiah Hastings of Birmingham, Kawan Rally of El Camino Real, Jaydon Mickens of Dorsey, Lance Fernandez of Garfield and Tray Boone of Narbonne; offensive linemen Tarance Cotright of Crenshaw, Ricardo Macias of Arleta, Eli Assouline of El Camino Real, Pu'e Togia of Carson and David Orellana of Birmingham; wide receivers Antonie Anderson of Narbonne, Darreus Rogers of Carson and Michael Whitt of San Pedro; linebackers Demetric McKinney of West Adams, Kaelen Russell of Gardena, Aisea Niu of Arleta and Marquise Lomas of Narbonne; defensive linemen Marcus Manley of Fairfax, Jeremiah Allison of Dorsey Daniel Cortez of Carson and Everton Thaxter of Narbonne; defensive backs Adrian Mora of Birmingham, Jerrod Moton of Carson, Brent Speight of San Pedro, Patrick Wells of Taft and Tony Montes of Reseda.

The All-City kicker is Ericson Penate of El Camino Real and the punter is Taft's Jordan Dascalo.
Marks was also named Player of the Year in the Western League and Hood was voted Lineman of the Year along with Anthony Kyles of Westchester. Nick King of Westchester was the offensive player of the year, while Lowe and Manley were the defensive players of the year.

Gondos sophomore quarterback also made first-team all-league.
Venice (7-5) won the league title for the 10th straight year and lost to Carson in the quarterfinals of the City playoffs.
