Have you ever been curious about meditation? Or wished you could meditate more regularly? Designed for people living in the modern world, this course provides students with introductory tools and teachings for working with meditation in everyday life. By deepening our experience and understanding of ourselves through peaceful abiding meditation, we more fully become who we are already are with our innate stability, strength, and clarity.
This program will provide an opportunity to learn and deepen one’s understanding of meditation, with practical suggestions for establishing a sitting practice in the midst of our speedy lives. Each class will include periods of guided meditation, talks and discussion of the challenges mediators face in meditation practice.

Meditation in Everyday Life is the first course in our program The Way of Shambhala.
David Dubin, MD is a long-time student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and is a senior teacher of Shambhala Buddhist meditation. His medical practice is exclusively limited to neurofeedback. Dr. Dubin has offices at the Akasha Center for Integrative Medicine in Santa Monica and in Beverly Hills.

Alexandra Milsom first started practicing with Shambhala in 2003. She spent one year living at Dechen Chöling, Shambhala's retreat center in rural France, before coming out to Los Angeles to pursue her Ph.D. in English literature. Currently, Alex serves on the Global Council of the Ziji Collective, a Shambhala group dedicated to social engagement and culture, and she also helps coordinate Los Angeles' Young Adult sitting group on Monday nights.
