New Year's Day Crash Shuts Down 405 Freeway

A collision involving multiple vehicles on the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Palms area temporarily shut down four freeway Monday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A collision involving four to five vehicles on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Palms area temporarily shut down four freeway lanes Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash took place about 8:15 p.m. Monday on the 405 Freeway at Palms Boulevard, said CHP Officer Alex Rubio.

The collision shut down the carpool, and number 1, 2 and 3 lanes, Rubio said. A SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 8:38 p.m.

The freeway was cleared at 9:31 p.m. and the SigAlert was cancelled, according to the CHP.

No injuries were reported.
