One Injured, Gunman at Large in Mar Vista Shooting

Police are looking for the shooter who injured a man at Centinela Avenue and Washington Place.

A 16-year-old boy was wounded today in a shooting in Mar Vista and the suspect was on the loose.

The shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Washington Place when a male suspect on foot approached the victim outside an apartment building and shots rang out, said Officer Jack Richter of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

Richter had no information on the condition of the victim, who was taken from the shooting scene to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Police set up a perimeter but were unable to locate the suspect, Richter said.

A description of the male gunman was not immediately available as witnesses were uncooperative with investigators, said Sgt. James Mankey of the LAPD’s Pacific Station.
