PHOTOS: Car Lands in Flood Control Channel in Mar Vista

A person was injured today in a two-vehicle crash in the Mar Vista area, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 6:30 a.m. at Sawtelle and Palms boulevards, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters rescued one person from one of the vehicles, which ended up in a flood-control channel, Humphrey said. That person was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries described as "non-life-threatening," he said.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
