Police say this woman was caught on camera after allegedly using a credit card stolen from a surfer at Will Rogers State Beach.

Pacific Palisades, CA - Police today sought the public's help in identifying suspects responsible for vehicle thefts that target surfers at Will Rogers State Beach and other local breaks.

A victim reported that he parked his car about 10:30 a.m. on May 1 on Pacific Coast Highway near Sunset Boulevard and left his keys in one of his vehicle's wheel wells, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

When he returned, his car was gone.

"It is common practice for surfers that frequent the area to leave their car keys accessible on their wheel wells," according to a police statement. "Criminals have taken advantage of this practice by locating the hidden car keys and using them to steal victims' cars as well as their cell phones, wallets, and purses. Surfers and other beachgoers are advised to stop this practice to avoid further crimes."

Some of the thefts have led to the fraudulent use of victims' credit cards, police said.
