Police Release Video Of Suspects In Fatal Venice Hit & Run

Do you recognize these two men suspected of running over and killing a sleeping homeless man in Venice?

VENICE, CA — Police are asking for help identifying two men connected to the hit and run death of a homeless man who was run over while he slept in his sleeping bag near the Venice Boardwalk.

Eddie Davis was struck and killed at Wave Crest Avenue and Speedway at about 1:30 a.m. on April 19 by a dark blue or black, late model Yukon Denali with custom, after-market wheels, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The SUV was travelling northbound on Speedway when it veered off the road striking Davis, while he was sleeping. The SUV driver fled the scene, heading southbound on Speedway. Davis died at the scene.

One suspect was described as a 5-foot, 11-inch tall white or Latino male about 30 to 35 years old and was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue plaid shirt, dark blue jeans and tennis shoes.

The other suspect was described as a 5-foot, 6-foot inch tall Latino man, about 30 to 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray beanie, gray sweatshirt, dark pants and tennis shoes.

LAPD West Traffic Division asked anyone with any information regarding the fatal hit-and-run to call them at (213) 473-0234.
