Real Housewife Pleads to Resisting Arrest, Gets Real Community Service

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast member Kim Richards will have to do community service, probation and rehab.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Kim Richards pleaded no contest today -- through her attorney -- to resisting a peace officer and was sentenced to three years probation.

Richards, who turned 51 Saturday, was also ordered to attend 52 weeks of alcohol treatment classes, complete 30 days of community labor and pay restitution. A restitution hearing is set for Dec. 14.

Richards did not appear in court for today’s hearing.

The plea deal struck with prosecutors allows Richards -- who was also facing misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and battery on a peace officer at the Beverly Hills Hotel -- to avoid any additional jail time.

Richards was arrested April 16 after she refused to leave the hotel’s Polo Lounge.

TMZ had reported that Richards’ attorney was trying to negotiate community service instead of community labor, because the 1970s child star has a foot injury.

Richards, whose struggle with sobriety has been documented on the Bravo series, was arrested again on Aug. 2 and jailed overnight on suspicion of shoplifting $600 in merchandise from a Target store in Van Nuys.
